Falling asleep with the radio on is one of my favourite indulgences (after spitting double overhead barrels, naturellement), especially listening to the shipping forecast and the Radio 4 sign off Sailing By on the cusp of consciousness.
Sometime this week, I heard an installment of Tim Winton's (author of 'Breath' - the only surfing novel ever read in Book Clubs) book Land's Edge. For surfers it's an evocative explanation of the lure of the ocean. Its on BBC i-player for a few more days.
